..... at Skipton - gateway to the Yorkshire Dales Skipton is a thriving market town on the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. It's got a canal winding through the town centre which is a reminder of the gentler pace of life in years gone by. However it is still in use today mainly as a tourist attraction and the brightly painted barges make a lovely feature for visitors.. I ventured away from the usual tourist haunts and came across this dark arch under an old Victorian bridge. The still waters made a perfect reflection. I enjoyed the unusual angles of the reflection and shadow - hope you do too!
