"Rainbow River" is one of a trilogy of watercolour paintings exploring the effects of light in a shady riverbank. They will all feature in my upcoming exhibition 'Three Journeys' which runs from 1st August - 2nd September at the Gallery@theSpa Bridlington. It is a great venue for art and is open daily from 10.am through until approximately 4.30. Admission is free and as well as the exhibition there is an excellent tearoom with great views over Bridlington Bay........ worth a visit? I should say so! Although this painting is based on a real place it contains many elements of inspiration and imagination whereas last year I focussed more on reality. I want you to be sat on this shady riverbank cooling off from a hot sunny day and watching the gentle flow of this timeless river. I used lots of different colours in the painting to get the 'rainbow' effect I was seeking. The black framed painting measures 34" x 28" and is for sale from the 1st August for £345.00.
