Sometimes less is more and this is a good example. We were walking on Bridlington South beach and the glare from the sun was almost blinding. That was the effect I wanted to try and capture. I used masking fluid to preserve the glare and was able to complete the painting with very loose washes which is always my preferred method of working. The lines and patterns on the beach are almost abstract but the strong silhouetted shape of the groynes anchor the composition firmly to the beach. Simple but effective.
