This was the first painting in my triage of 'reflections from a riverbank' which will form the centrepiece of my "Three Journeys" exhibition. It's a large watercolour measuring 34" x 28" mounted and framed. The point of this painting (and the other two for that matter) was to try and portray that relaxing feeling of being by a cool river or stream on a warm day. Away from the bank you can see and feel the heat but here in the shade all is quiet and peaceful. Here you can cool off and take a moment or two to reflect on the sights and sounds of Mother Nature at her tranquil and relaxing best. As a painter I have always been attracted by the play of light on water and here I have tried to lead you not just into the scene, but beyond as well. So go on...settle down for a while and enjoy the peace. The 'Three Journeys' Exhibition is at Bridlington Spa and starts on the 1st August running through until 2nd September so plenty of time for you to come and have a look if you get the chance.
