This is a painting of my Studio Gallery in Old Town, Bridlington. It was a great experience being a part of the then thriving artist community there a few years ago. There are some marvellous advantages about owning your own Gallery. The main one is the complete control you have where and how your work is displayed. The Gallery was quite small so we just used to exhibit Merice's manipulations and photos along with my watercolours and prints. It was also a great base for workshops and classes. We lived in a flat at the back of the Gallery but it was too small, so when we moved to our lovely home in Sewerby we reluctantly decided to close the shop. Sadly most of the other galleries closed shortly after due to the effects of the credit crunch. But great news. Here is the new Glenn Marshall Gallery: If my old Gallery was small, this is positively tiny......very tiny! In fact we've made it to go in the Bondville Miniature Village here in Sewerby which opens tomorrow. I will be posting some shots of my new gallery in situ after the grand opening tomorrow, but you don't have to wait - come along and see for yourself - I'll look out for you. Glenn

Thank you Rajasree. It was the grand opening today and the whole miniature village looked great in the spring sunshine.

Lovely article. I too used to have a Gallery and Antique Shop, but now only have an on-line presence, website & blog and Etsy shop.

Hi Julian. I miss having the gallery but working from home and online has its advantages. I've just back now from a great day out with the grandkids in the North Yorks Moors and I wouldn't have done that if I still had a gallery!
